We are 100% open

All of our trail system and the Carriage Trail are now open. The Carriage Trail is still a touch bit soft on the Proctor side so please be gentle on it.

The Carriage Trail needs a bunch of face slappers cut if anyone is up for some trail maintenance. From the water tower to the limbo tree is the worst section.

Trails are open !

Pine Hill Park trails are open for mountain biking.

Trails are still tender please ride responsibly.

YES Plan volunteers start Thursday, June 4th through Monday, June 15th.  We welcome other volunteers on these days.

Youth Works starts Monday, June 22nd. These folks will be in the park on Monday’s and Tuesday’s till August 4th. We welcome other volunteers to join us.

These volunteer days start at 9AM in the front entrance of Pine Hill Park.

Please do not ride on trails in this condition. Your volunteers would greatly appreciate it.

Spring on the Carriage Trail

Conditions on the Carriage Trail as of April 17th are still pretty wet in spots. Good for frogs — but for bikes, not so much. Good news though, is that it looks to me like the work VYCC did last year in the wet areas is really helping to drain the trail faster.

Spring Trail Closures-are now open as of May 20th.

trail_closings_DEC2014These trails are now open as of May 20th. Please ride them gently as the trail tread is tender.

Exit Strategy, Lichen Rock,  steep hill on Droopy leading towards Dewey Wood Rd are closed still closed as of May 10th.  These trails received some TLC on our community work day and we hope to open these in another week or so.

PLEASE DO NOT RIDE THESE CLOSED TRAILS at this time.

Carriage Trail is closed to mountain bikes

We are all patiently waiting for the Carriage Trail to dry out. Please stay off the Carriage Trail with your mountain bike.   VYCC did a lot of drainage work last year but trail still could be soft in April and May. Please be respectful of our trail that was many years in the making.

The Carriage Trail came into concept in 2007. It took us 6 years to get approval from all the landowners.

Thanks to a VTrans Grant we were able to have VYCC come in 2013 to make the Carriage Trail sustainable. VYCC returned on the same grant in 2014 and put more drainage in areas that we had problems with in the spring.

We are extremely hopeful that spring of 2015 the trail will dry out quicker so we can play on it quicker.

A huge thank you to the private and public landowners for allowing us to ‘officially’ open this trail.

Be on the Lookout for Wayward Tools!

Summer 2013

VYCC finished up this past weekend. Wait till you see some of the incredible work they did all while camping out with the mosquitoes for 3 weeks. With luck we’ll have the Carriage Trail blazed by mid-September so it will be easier for folks to follow. If you get adventurous now the trail is passable but there are trees down on the Proctor side and it does get confusing over there with all the logging roads.

Youth Works finished up this past week also and did an absolutely fantastic job again in the park. They had over 2500 hours on Exit Strategy. The last two weeks we had them on PA4J(just past the Stegosaurus intersection), Upper Jersey, Upper Droopy, Svelte Tiger and Lower Droopy trying to dry out mud puddles which have been persistent this year. We are missing a hazel hoe on either on PA4J, Upper Jersey or Upper Droopy. A Pulaski is missing on upper part of Svelte Tiger or the lower part of Droopy(between Svelte and Upper Ledges). If you find one of these tools let us know.

We have a community work night this Thursday at 5pm we hope to finish off Exit Strategy if we get enough man power to move surepak and dirt into the last two corners. We’re really, really close. This trail will be a blast to ride!

Please keep an eye out for our missing tools, they would like a good home for winter.

Thank you very much for your support of Pine Hill Partnership, Inc.
